In detail

According to the President of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration Order (OPANAF no. 915/2023 (OPANAF no. 915/2023), the ANAF International Information Exchange Service, called the Central Connection Office, is responsible for contacts with the European Commission and international organizations to which Romania is a party and will transmit all information to them regarding the data and statistics provided for in title X – International Aspects, cap. I – Administrative cooperation in the fiscal area in the Fiscal Procedure Code.

The Central Connection Office’s administrative cooperation activity in the fiscal area involves transmitting and receiving documents and information to or from the competent authorities of other states and the international organisations to which Romania is a party:

• on paper;

• by electronic means of remote transmission;

• through the Common Communication Network developed by the European Union to ensure the transmission by electronic means of documents between the competent authorities in the customs and fiscal fields;

• through the Common Data Transmission System – a secure and encrypted network created by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development;

• through the International Data Exchange Service – a unique network used for the automatic exchange of information with the United States of America in the context of the Tax Compliance Law applicable to foreign accounts.
