Lower specific excise duty for cigarettes as of 1 April 2019

As of 1 April 2019, the specific excise duty level for cigarettes is to be decreased to RON 366.147 / 1,000 cigarettes.

In detail

Minister of Finance Order no. 1719/2019 was published in the Official Gazette no. 166 on 1 March 2019.

The Order sets the new level of specific excise duty on cigarettes for the period 1 April 2019 - 31 March 2020, in accordance with art. 343 par. (5) of Law no. 227/2015 on the Fiscal Code.

The specific excise duty on cigarettes is to be reduced for that period to RON 366.147 / 1,000 cigarettes.
