Increase in specific excise duty for cigarettes as of 1 April 2024: OMF no. 265/2024

Order of the Minister of Finance (OMF) no. 265/2024 established the level of the specific excise duty for cigarettes for the period from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 RON 543.81/1,000 cigarettes. This is higher than the level of the specific excise duty applicable between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024 (which is RON 493.988/1,000 cigarettes).
