8 December – The Tax, Legal Business Solutions and People practice of PwC Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) has launched the use of the revolutionary Legal AI tool Harvey by its teams across the region. PwC’s Tax, Legal Business Solutions and People professionals will have exclusive access (amongst Big Four professional services firms) to this Generative AI Legal assistant.
Harvey, which is backed by the OpenAI Startup Fund, is built on OpenAI and ChatGPT technology. It is a platform that uses natural language processing, machine learning and data analytics to automate and enhance various aspects of legal work. Harvey will help generate insights and recommendations based on large volumes of data, delivering richer information that will enable PwC professionals to identify solutions faster. All outputs will be overseen and reviewed by PwC professionals.
The PwC Global Network announced this alliance in March 2023 and PwC member firms (including PwC CEE) have started using Harvey within their local practices. The global strategic alliance between PwC and Harvey AI builds on PwC’s ability to bring human-led and tech-enabled solutions to clients, delivering on its strategy, The New Equation.
“We are excited to be at the forefront of the work transformation in our region by starting to use this revolutionary Harvey AI technology. As the leaders of the tax and legal services in our markets, we always aim to bring the best expertise and latest technology to serve our clients, making sure we deliver even better, faster, and smarter solutions to help them solve their important problems,” said Jan Waclawek, PwC CEE Tax, Legal and People Services Leader.
The use of this technology by PwC’s CEE TLP professionals will help provide several key benefits for our clients:
Harvey will enhance the ability of PwC’s CEE TLP professionals to deliver human-led and technology-enabled legal solutions in a range of areas, including contract analysis, regulatory compliance, claims management, due diligence and broader legal advisory and legal consulting services.
PwC will work with Harvey to help clients further streamline their in-house legal processes.
PwC will also look to develop and train its own proprietary AI models with Harvey to create customized products and services for its own use cases and for clients across Tax, Legal Business Solutions and People.
“At PwC CEE Legal Business Solutions, we believe in the combination of human capabilities and AI innovations. This opens up a new era of efficiency, accuracy, connectivity, and the highest standards of legal services for our clients. At PwC, we don’t wait for changes, we actively create them”, added Hugh Owen, PwC CEE Legal Business Solutions Leader.
