Country Managing Partner, Romania
Ionut Simion is Country Managing Partner of PwC Romania, where he leads a team of over 800 professionals, including 21 Partners, across three lines of services – Assurance, Tax and Legal Consulting, Management Consulting and Deals. He is also a member of the Partner Council of PwC in Central and Eastern Europe.
Ionut is a graduate of the Academy of Economics in Bucharest, and holds a PhD in Economics from the same Academy.
Ionut is one of the best known tax advisors in Romania and for six years he was the leader of the Taxation committee of AmCham. Currently, he is a vice-president of the Romanian Chamber of Tax Consultants.
Ionut is the President of AmCham. In this role, he is involved in discussions and negotiation with Romanian authorities on different legislative initiatives having an impact on the Romanian business environment. In 2016 Ionuţ supervised the publication of a complex AmCham report on public policy recommendations - Priorities for Romania – which comprises specific actions to encourage the development of several key sectors in Romania.
Ionut Simion is one of the pioneers of Transfer Pricing in Romania. Prior to becoming Country Managing Partner, Ionuţ was for eight years the leader of PwC’s Central and Eastern Europe Transfer Pricing network, as well as an assistant member of the Joint Forum for Transfer Pricing of the European Union.
He is also a member of the board of the Romanian American Foundation (RAF), an organisation that seeks to promote and strengthen conditions for a sustainable market economy and a democratic society by supporting several projects focusing on entrepreneurship, education and community development.
