The Environmental Fund Administration (EFA) has introduced a new inspection procedure whereby it sends a Notification to companies conducting activities that generate payment obligations to the Environmental Fund.
Companies with activities which might generate Environmental Fund payment obligations related to packaging introduced onto the Romanian market are required by the EFA to comply with the applicable legal requirements. This notification is applicable for the companies which, in 2012, imported packaged goods and performed acquisitions of packaged goods from other member states.
In addition, companies which develop other types of activities which might generate payment obligations to the EFA are required to submit declarations to the Environmental Fund for those contributions.
According to this Notification issued by the EFA, companies have 15 days from receiving such a notification to take the appropriate measures to update the EFA database with declarations not previously submitted.
If a company has already submitted declarations for the contributions generated by their activity, the EFA requires written confirmation to prove that submission.
In order to anticipate the potential risks in the event of a future inspection, we can provide assistance in reviewing your company’s operations which might generate payment obligations to the EFA and in fulfilling your legal obligations.
