Excise level for fermented beverages

On the 19th of November 2013, it was published Law no. 303 / 2013 for the approval of Governmental Emergency Ordinance no. 117 / 2010 in order to amend Law no. 571 / 2003 regarding the Fiscal Code and other Financial - Fiscal measures.

The Law approves Emergency Ordinance no. 117 / 2010 and provides the reduction of excise duties’ level owed to the state budget for still fermented beverages other than beer and wine, from the value of EUR 100 / hl of product to EUR 10/hl of product.

Also, within the same group of excise goods, it was foreseen a level of EUR 0 for apple and pear cider (CN codes 2206 00 51 and 2206 00 81) and for the mead obtained from the fermentation of a solution based on honey in water (CN codes 2206 00 59 and 2206 00 89).

The Law will enter into force on 22 November 2013.
