Mihaela joined the Bucharest practice of PwC Romania in 1997 and became a Partner in July 2004. Starting with 1 July 2013, she has been appointed as SEE Managing Partner, Tax & Legal Services.
Her experience includes both Romanian and international taxation and she has been involved in a wide range of complex assignments for multinational corporations and local companies including restructuring, privatisation, tax compliance, tax optimisation schemes, due diligence, setting up international structures and taxation rules applicable mainly in EU member states. For many years, she has also been advising individuals (Romanian nationals or expatriates) on personal tax matters.
She holds a Degree in Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. Since 2011, Mihaela is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and she completed the Harvard Business School YPO-WPO Presidents’ Program in January 2014. She is a member of the Romanian Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (CECCAR), Vice-president and Member of the Board of the Romanian Chamber of Tax Consultants (CCF), Vice-president of European Fiscal Committee (CFE) and an Independent External Auditor. Mihaela is frequently invited as key note speaker or moderator in prominent business events and her expert opinions are often featured in Romanian mainstream media.
